Why work with us
At Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust we want our staff to be the best they can be, embody and live our Trust Values and for the Trust to be diverse, inclusive and a great place to work.
We actively listen to colleagues and make changes as a result of what is highlighted. For example, our Trust values and Staff Health and Wellbeing service has been developed directly from what colleagues told us. In 2021, 56% of our colleagues shared their views via the staff survey and we are proud to be consulting on the issues that have been identified in order to make improvements for our colleagues.
We’re proud of what we have achieved as an organisation, specifically the care, commitment and dedication to patients / service users our colleagues continue to show every day. We recognise that flexibility, health and wellbeing, career development and opportunities to help shape our services, are all pivotal for our staff to have a rewarding career with us.
As a Trust we are proud to embed the NHS People Promise; Supporting our staff in their working lives through compassionate leadership, and offering a wide range of support and benefits, including:
- Range of flexible working options
- Staff health and wellbeing service including employee assistance programme, internal occupational health, physiotherapy service, internal staff counselling, support services and resources for physical, mental and emotional health
- Other benefits include cycle to work, travel passes and car lease schemes, financial support including discounted schemes including gym membership, white goods, vouchers and incentive schemes to join and promote the Trust
- Support for our staff who are also carers. We are an active member of the Carer Confident Scheme.
We encourage our staff to get involved and participate in our staff networks, whether that be our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion networks, our Green Champions network, Freedom to Speak Up Champion network, Health and Wellbeing Champion network or Armed Forces Community network.
We celebrate and engage with our staff through regular staff engagement events, our staff Facebook group and celebrate with colleagues through national events such as Black History month, LGBT+ History month, International Women’s Day and more.
We also recognise our staff and teams for their amazing work they do through our monthly Positive Stars scheme and annual staff awards, as well as celebrating through other local, regional and national awards. We want all our staff who work with us to have a rewarding and enriching career.
We support this objective by supporting our staff through training, leadership development programmes and different career development pathways. We provide mentorship, supervision, learning partnerships and peer support for all of our staff.
Our promise to you:
We will ensure that you are supported in line with our Trust Values. Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust actively works to fulfil the seven elements of the NHS People Promise:
We will adhere to the promise and support all our colleagues, assuring that we are continuously striving to listen to colleagues, adapting accordingly and striving always to be the best place to work.
